The evolution of Ebenezer Scrooge !

Note: I made this poem for my English class, while we were studying A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens.

Ebenezer Scrooge that’s his name,

An old man, rude and full of shame.

Bah! Humbug! That’s his phrase,

One look at him and his coldness stays.

Early in the night, he’s given a chance,

To visit his old past and get a quick glance.

An old ghost comes and explains his lesson,

In hopes that old Scrooge will change a big section.

On the second night, another spirit comes,

And shows him how he leaves people with crumbs.

Scrooge gets frightened and begs to be let go,

But the ghost explains that his kindness must show.

Onto the very last day the last ghost appeared,

Showing Scrooge that his past can be cleared.

Scrooge understands and accepts his mistakes,

Moments later, a new Scrooge awakes.

Ebenezer Scrooge that’s his name,

An old man, look how much he overcame.

Merry Christmas! That’s his new phrase,

One look at him and his warmness stays.
